Carmel Page is a Storyteller

Would you like to hear a traditional tale? - Carmel tells legends, myths and folktales from the locality, the UK and around the world. They are always adapted to meet the needs of the audience whether they are lively children who love to join in or adults who appreciate the subtler messages.

Would you like a bespoke story created for your event?

Carmel has created stories to celebrate a rooftop wormery, to entice children to eat fruit and to celebrate exotic wallpaper in a pub toilet. She loves a creative challenge.

Do you need something joyfully anarchic?

Carmel performs The Flight of the Teddy Bears with her troupe of flying bears. It's the sort of craziness everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

Do you need hands-on activities?

Carmel has been a child-care worker, she is also an artist, museum and gallery educator and passionate recycler. She can provide workshops to enhance storytelling, educate, and encourage creative recycling. She combines her skills to produce events such as DARNS & YARNS where she teaches darning then tells people stories as they darn.

Do you have a challenging group to work with?

Carmel has worked with traumatised children, people seeking sanctuary, children with cancer, care home residents with dementia and young adults with challenging behaviour.

Would you like to improve your own performance?

Get in touch to discuss using stories to promote your business, enhancing your speaking skills or to learn storytelling skills. CPD sessions are available for teachers on storytelling and creativity in the classroom. Training can be in person or online.

Carmel's house is in Sheffield, South Yorkshire although she often lives in a world of her own. She is happy to travel and has worked for The Royal Armouries in Leeds, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Sheffield Museums Trust, Grimm&Co, Yorkshire Natural History Museum, over fifty schools, a shelf load of libraries, and many festivals and private events across the country.

Carmel has an enhanced DBS for adults and children's workforce and Public Liability Insurance documentation can be provided.
