Sheffield Sling Library

Our sling library has been supporting parents and caregivers in Sheffield and beyond since 2013. It has evolved into a thriving community service, supporting new parents to survive the early months via the popular 4th trimester course, learn how to use carriers safely and confidently, and signposting to any other services you might need. We took on the Cloth Nappy Library service at the end of 2022 and offer nappy hire and support as well.

We help families find safe, well-made baby carriers that fit comfortably and are easy to put on. You can try on a range of options and hire them to "road test" in real life before committing. We can help you make the most of your own carriers, so you can use them safely and confidently. We teach a wide of range of carriers (wraps, ring slings, structured carriers) in a range of ways, such as for hip and back carries, and facing forwards. You can get focussed help in an individual consultation appointment, or for quick fit checks and meeting other parents pop into our drop-in sessions around the city. Small group workshops are a fun way to learn alongside other families and can spark new friendships.

We sell a range of excellent brands in the Sling Spot shop (available at our services and online) and can often help families to source brands that we don't stock ourselves via referral schemes.

We are all parents ourselves in addition to being fully trained Babywearing Educators, and are always ready to listen when needed, offer tea and signpost to other resources.
